Peru approved the extradition of triple homicide suspect Pequeño J, but his transfer to Argentina is delayed 1-2 months to broaden the charges.

Delay in Pequeño J's Extradition to Argentina

Peru has officially approved the extradition of Tony Janzen Valverde Victoriano, alias 'Pequeño J', to Argentina. Accused of a triple homicide in Florencio Varela, his transfer will face delays of several months.

On January 30, Peru's Extradition Commission authorized the handover for prosecution regarding the murders of Lara Gutiérrez (15), Brenda del Castillo (20), and Morena Verdi (20). He faces charges of aggravated homicide committed with extreme cruelty by a group and motivated by gender-based violence.

However, Federal Judge Jorge Rodríguez requested that the extradition scope be broadened to include investigations into drug trafficking and human trafficking. Legal experts explained that extraditing him solely for homicide would restrict the inquiry.

"If extradited only for homicide, all evidence obtained regarding other crimes would be invalidated," sources stated. Consequently, the process is being extended to formally amend the charges. The defendant is now expected to arrive in Argentina in one to two months.
