Buenos Aires, January 30 (NA) – The 'bike thief', a criminal who had been released at the end of last year, was arrested again after committing three armed robberies in a span of 72 hours, two of them in less than 40 minutes. The suspect's capture occurred on Nazca avenue at 2300 after it was confirmed that the individual was the criminal who had been generating fear in the Commune 11 area, Villa del Parque and Devoto, by carrying out several robberies in a few hours. According to confirmation to the Argentine News Agency, on January 14, the 24-year-old young man carried out a robbery of a kiosk on Camarones street at 3600, in Villa Santa Rita, where he threatened employees with a weapon and stole money, then fled by bicycle. Following the complaint, the City Police began a surveillance operation, and two days later they were alerted again to two incidents committed in less than an hour: a pet shop on Beiró street at 5000, and then a kiosk on San Martín avenue at 7300. Witnesses stated that the subject always traveled by bicycle, which allowed authorities to conduct more effective tracking. In this way, detectives from the City Police's Division of Community Investigations 11 (DIC11) began the investigation, and on one occasion they observed him walking in the commercial area of Nazca and Álvarez Jonte, wearing a black Argentina national football team t-shirt and a black visor cap, the same one he had used for one of the robberies. Upon confirming it was the same person, although this time he did not have the bicycle, the agents proceeded with his arrest. The suspect had been released on December 29 of last year, and now the National Court in Criminal and Correctional Matters 43 has decided to unify the three new cases in which he is accused.
