78-Year-Old Driver Disqualified in Argentina for Reckless Maneuvers

In Buenos Aires, a driver was disqualified and reported for reckless maneuvers on Camino de las Altas Cumbres. This decision was made after various videos showing the woman making prohibited overtakes went viral. The Traffic Accident Prevention Department imposed measures and sanctions against the driver of a white Renault Koleos SUV. On Sunday, January 11, on Provincial Route 34, between kilometers 77 and 87, the woman performed reckless maneuvers, putting 'the lives of those circulating in the area at risk'. In response, the driving license of the vehicle's registered owner, a 78-year-old woman from San Luis province, was revoked. Additionally, she has six prior infractions in Córdoba: five very serious for speeding and one for improper use of lights. Likewise, according to Argentine News Agency, a complaint was filed with the Contraventional Criminal Justice for dangerous driving. A piece of information provided is that the head of the area, Miguel Rizzotti, contacted his counterpart in San Luis, Alejandro Lara Ferrero, who extended the disqualification to his jurisdiction. The measure was also reported to the National Road Safety Agency to be entered into the National Traffic Records Register, making it valid nationwide. 'The message is clear: for this Ministry of Security, reckless driving behaviors will not be tolerated under any point of view. We apply the figure of recidivism, incorporated in the new Provincial Traffic Law, and we will use all legal tools to pursue and sanction these facts,' affirmed the provincial Security Minister, Juan Pablo Quinteros.
