Buenos Aires, January 27 (NA) — The national government rejected a request to disclose the location of the country's gold reserves, within the framework of the case being handled in the United States over the nationalization of YPF. The filing was entered in the court of Loretta Preska, as reported by analyst Sebastián Maril through his social networks. “The government rejected this request by explaining that the gold belongs to the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) and, as an independent entity, the Treasury does not have access to said information,” Maril specified in the post processed by the Argentine News Agency. On the other hand, it also rejected the request for the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, to appear to testify for clarification on the request. The government indicated that it would make the corresponding request to the Central Bank. The beneficiaries of the $16 billion ruling are attempting to establish connections to detect assets that would allow the judge to order the enforcement of the sentence. It should be recalled that Argentina has appealed Preska's guilty verdict and is awaiting that resolution from the Court of Appeals.
