Buenos Aires, January 21 (NA) – The first incidents of the year were recorded this Wednesday during the retirees' march when the Buenos Aires Police attempted to identify two masked protesters, according to sources from the Argentine News Agency.
The incident took place near the Congress, where retirees and political organizations resumed the Wednesday marches.
«An incident occurred between protesters and police brigade personnel as they attempted to identify two masked individuals. As police officers approached, the motorcycle left the scene, leaving two men behind, whom they proceeded to identify», stated the sources.
«At that moment, one of the men threw himself to the ground and the other began to obstruct the police's actions», they added.
As witnesses to the situation, «several protesters began to gather, throwing objects at the officers», so «police formed a cordon to calm the situation».
«There are no detainees and one policeman has a blow to the face», clarified the police.
The Federal Police, for its part, occupied the first cordon, in compliance with the anti-picket protocol.
The Case
The Buenos Aires Police reported that at the intersection of Rivadavia and Rodríguez Peña, «a motorcycle with two men was observed, which did not have a license plate».
