In Buenos Aires, in the Palermo neighborhood, a home that had been squatted by a woman who had stopped paying rent was recovered and returned to its owner. According to sources from the Buenos Aires City Public Prosecutor's Office informed the Noticias Argentinas agency, the PCyF 8 Prosecutor's Office carried out the investigation and confirmed that the tenant refused to leave the property on Fitz Roy Street at 2400. The woman lived in the property under a temporary rental modality since May 2024, while the owner, a 70-year-old retiree, reported that he only received payment for the first few months. Prosecutor Maximiliano Vence determined that the individual presented a false income certificate, for which reason she was instructed on several occasions, but she disregarded the order. In this context, the prosecutor requested the PCyF 4 Court to carry out a search and eviction, with the objective of recovering the house. Agents from the Public Prosecutor's Office's Judicial Investigations Corps coordinated the procedure, which was carried out by the City Police's Division of Contraventions and Offenses, with the intervention of personnel from the General Directorate of Auxiliary and Emergency Guard (GAYE) and other agencies. Additionally, the General Directorate of Immediate Attention, the Buenos Aires Presente (BAP) Program, the Government and Citizen Linkage Secretariat (SECGVC), the Evictions Area, the General Directorate of Assistance Policies for the Elderly, and the SAME participated.
