David Beckham addresses Brooklyn's accusations

Businessman David Beckham has spoken for the first time about the serious accusations from his son Brooklyn, who in a statement posted on his Instagram Stories accused him and his wife Victoria of manipulating the press and trying to sabotage his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz. According to the Argentine News Agency, the president of Inter Miami avoided making press statements during his presence at the World Economic Forum in Davos. However, hours later, he chose to address the scandal on the CNBC financial program Squawk Box. “The bad thing we’ve talked about regarding children’s access to social media today is that it can be dangerous,” he said. He also highlighted the importance of using networks as a tool to spread information: “Personally, especially with my children, I’ve discovered that it’s important to use them with good intentions. That’s how they learn. That’s what I try to teach them.” Unlike his son's statements, the businessman allowed Brooklyn to speak without denying any of his points: “Sometimes you have to let them make those mistakes too.” Beckham avoided delving into the family scandal and spoke from a paternal standpoint: “I’ve tried to do the same with my children, to educate them. They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make them. Although he did not respond point by point to his eldest son's words, he maintained a firm and diplomatic stance on Brooklyn's position. In a carefully worded speech, Beckham spoke about “the dangers of social media” and their impact on youth: “I have always talked about social media and its power. I have been able to use my platform and my followers for UNICEF.”
