Buenos Aires, Jan. 12 (NA) – A retired police officer killed a criminal during an attempted robbery at a poultry warehouse located on the shoulder of the Dellepiane Sur highway. In addition to the deceased, one thief has been arrested and another is at large. According to information provided to the Argentine News Agency, the incident occurred on January 5, but came to light in recent hours after the circulation of images capturing the moment of the crime and the actions of the former police officer. According to the case file, the attempted robbery and murder occurred during the unloading of merchandise, when three armed criminals surprised the staff present at the scene. At that moment, the store's security guard, a former officer of the Buenos Aires Provincial Police, 'repelled the robbery by wounding one of the aggressors, a 43-year-old Argentine, and subdued him at the scene, while the other two fled in a vehicle.' 'I'm done, brother. It's over,' said the criminal, who was wearing a soccer jersey. Despite being urgently transferred to Grierson Hospital, it was confirmed that he died three days later from the severity of the stomach wound after being shot. Hours after the crime, one of the fugitives, a 23-year-old Argentine, was found injured and admitted to the same hospital, and has since been arrested. Personnel from the City Police's 9B precinct seized a 9mm pistol with the serial number filed off, parts of a .45 caliber weapon from the thieves, and also a 9mm weapon belonging to the security guard. In the case, titled 'aggravated robbery attempt with the use of a firearm and homicide in the course of a robbery,' the National Criminal and Correctional Court No.5, under the direction of prosecutor Bernarda Yamile, ordered the arrest of the accused.
