President Javier Milei received this morning the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, at the Casa Rosada, in a meeting to strengthen their common bond. According to what the Argentine News Agency learned, the situation in Venezuela, following the intervention of the United States and the detention of Nicolás Maduro, was part of the agenda of the exchange that took place in the office that the libertarian has on the first floor of the Government Palace. The Spanish right-wing leader requested the audience, which lasted a little over an hour, during a private trip to Uruguay, where she was seen vacationing with her partner, Alberto González Amador, in Punta del Este. This fact evidences the harmony between both world right-wing leaders and contrasts with the bond that the libertarian maintains with his Spanish counterpart, Pedro Sánchez. The truth is that, during his mandate so far, Milei has maintained minimal institutional contact with the leader of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) after a series of mutual accusations stemming from a comment by the libertarian against the Spanish leader's wife, Begoña Gómez, whom he called corrupt. The Chancellor, Pablo Quirno, was also present. In recent days, Ayuso has been critical of the Bolivarian regime and has defined Maduro as “a dictator who seized the ballot boxes and his people,” which has generated “assassinations, tortures, famine, and the exodus of millions of Venezuelans.” When the clocks showed 9:55, Díaz Ayuso paraded through the Hall of Busts at Balcarce 50 to meet — once again — with the head of state, whom she decorated in June 2024 with the International Medal of the Community of Madrid. Shortly before 11:30, she left without making statements to the accredited press. This Thursday's meeting was the first to take place on Argentine soil, as the three previous meetings were held in Madrid.
