On the eve of the New Year, the Argentine Cabinet is preparing for its planned vacations between the last days of December and the first days of January, intending to resume its work as January begins. According to the Argentine News agency, President Javier Milei will take a few days off, although he plans to remain mostly at the Olivos residence and avoid the Casa Rosada on days of high temperatures in the City of Buenos Aires. Another who will not be going on vacation is the Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, who is in his first months at the helm of the area and has in mind the idea of a break in the middle of the year. The Minister of the Interior, Diego Santilli, will not do the same either, as he has designed a new tour of the country to visit new provinces with the objective of gathering support for the legislative agenda for the second part of the extraordinary sessions. However, the rest of the officials have planned trips abroad and within the country after Milei relaxed the conditions for vacationing. In this way, the Minister of Justice, Mariano Cúneo Libarona, claims to have an academic agenda in Germany throughout the month of January. Milei will participate in the Davos Forum for the third consecutive year. Another who will have to travel for work is Sandra Pettovello, head of the Human Capital portfolio, who will visit Singapore for two weeks to familiarize herself with labor issues. There, she will lead three scheduled meetings for January 2, 3, and 5. Her environment clarified to the NA Agency that she will remain in Southeast Asia from December 27 to January 11 and that the funding for the trip comes from “international organizations.” The Minister of Health, Mario Lugones, is on vacation, remaining in Buenos Aires but without activity since December 23 and will resume his duties on January 5. Recently at the head of the Security portfolio, Alejandra Monteoliva, rules out being away from the ministry, although her environment specifies that she could spend a weekend in the province of Córdoba, her home province. For his part, the Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, Federico Sturzenegger, will rest and travel abroad, although his press team avoided specifying the destination and dates. It will be in early January. With his mind on the pending legislative agenda, the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, will not take days off, even though the extraordinary sessions could begin at the end of January. It is likely that he will make some trips to La Rioja. This agency also consulted the plans of Ministers Luis Caputo (Economy) and Carlos Presti (Defense), but received no response. The Senate also did not respond. “I have no record,” they said from the vice president’s inner circle.
