Buenos Aires, December 23 (NA) – A man who was a fugitive, accused of stabbing to death a 19-year-old girl and causing serious injuries to a 36-year-old woman, was arrested in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Barracas. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the suspect had been wanted since October 12, 2023, when he attacked the two victims with a bladed weapon, causing the death of one of them at a home in the Buenos Aires Aires district of Florencio Varela. The Ministry of National Security issued a national and international arrest warrant against the accused, who is charged with aggravated homicide due to the relationship (femicide) and doubly qualified attempted homicide, in a context of gender-based violence. In this context, officers from the Homicide Division of the City Police carried out the arrest in Villa 21-24 Zavaleta, an emergency settlement where the fugitive had been hiding in dining rooms and community centers, while also changing his appearance to go unnoticed. Personnel from the Directorate of Complex Crimes and Organized Crime of the Buenos Aires Aires Police collaborated in the investigation to locate the accused, who was made available to the Court of Rogations.
