Actress Julieta Díaz expressed her concern about the direction the 2026 Budget debate could take in Congress and denounced that there would be an impulse to repeal already approved laws related to the disability emergency and the financing of public universities.

According to what the Argentine News Agency learned, Díaz pointed out on her social networks that while deputies and senators work on the new budget, there is an intention to reverse the norms included in articles 75 and 76, which contemplate the Disability Emergency Law and the law that guarantees resources for universities.

“These are laws that were already voted on, that were approved and that were urgent to be able to be applied,” she emphasized.

The actress warned that a possible repeal would imply a new blow for people with disabilities and their families.

“They want to step on families and people with disabilities again,” she stated and demanded that Congress act in defense of these vulnerable sectors.

In this sense, Díaz asked those who already supported these initiatives in the past to do so again and vote against any attempt at repeal.

In addition, she made a specific call for the vote to be held by chapters and not by articles, the legislators to also reject the corresponding chapter, mentioned as chapter 11, and not to opt for abstention.

“Let them vote against and vote for people with disabilities, for their families and for public universities,” the actress concluded, thus joining the voices that demand to maintain inclusion and education policies in the midst of a complex economic and political scenario.
