Buenos Aires, Dec 15 (NA) – National Senator for Avanza Libertad, Patricia Bullrich, responded to the treasurer of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Pablo Toviggino, amid the complaint filed with CONMEBOL by the former security minister. As confirmed by the Argentine News Agency, the senator responded to Toviggino after he replied to her complaint with CONMEBOL, using the Tostado coffee chain—whose president is Bullrich's son—to attack her. "Toviggino, the complaint with the Ethics Committee is against you and Tapia. Leave the workers, the clubs, and the national team in the sporting realm. Not against the AFA," Bullrich stated. She also expressed, "And don't close the comments, Argentines want to express their opinions too." The leader used the accusation of dubious capital origin and bounced checks that fall upon the coffee and gastronomy chain Tostado, currently chaired by Bullrich's son. Langier was appointed in March 2024 as head of this conglomerate that declares over 63 million dollars annually while accumulating bounced checks for minimal amounts, a letter that Toviggino used to attack the senator. This Monday morning, Bullrich had published on her X the complaint she filed with Toviggino and the president of the AFA, Claudio Tapia, before the CONMEBOL Ethics Tribunal, to which she demanded that it "thoroughly investigate this mafia that runs the AFA and stains Argentine football." In response, Toviggino wrote: "NAY Agency never got involved with the AFA, you are the ones doing it. Not just with a sad press release, but as an extortion tool against clubs and leaders to stay in power. If this worries you, I don't want to imagine how you'll be with the Argentine justice system uncovering your dirty money maneuvers, your mansions, luxury cars, and racehorses. You explain why the money that doesn't reach them or the prizes is the one that finances your luxury life and your private jet trips."
Bullrich Responds to Toviggino, Using Coffee Chain for Counter-attack
Senator Patricia Bullrich responded to AFA Treasurer Pablo Toviggino, stating that his accusations against her are an attempt to divert attention from his own problems. The conflict is escalating around a complaint to CONMEBOL about a "mafia" in the leadership of Argentine football.
