Buenos Aires, December 15 (NA) – The National Executive Branch appointed new chiefs for the Army, Navy, and Joint Chiefs of Staff, as well as the Commander of Joint Operations, in a comprehensive overhaul of the military leadership published today in the Official Gazette. Through Decrees 885, 886, 887, and 888 of 2025, the government formalized the appointments of Vice Admiral Marcelo Alejandro Dalle Nogare as Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Héctor César Torner as Commander of Joint Operations, Vice Admiral Juan Carlos Romay as Chief of the General Staff of the Navy, and Division General Oscar Santiago Zarich as Chief of the General Staff of the Army. According to the considerations of the norms, the appointments were made based on the operational needs of the Armed Forces and the professional background of the selected senior officers. The four military officers assume leadership roles at a time when the Ministry of Defense is carrying out an institutional reorganization process. Additionally, as reported by the Argentine News Agency, the government accepted the resignation of Colonel Marcelo Alejandro Rozas Garay from his position at the Ministry of Defense via Decree 884/2025, thus completing the change of command.
