Argentine President Javier Milei celebrated the victory of his elected counterpart from Chile, José Antonio Kast, and described the win of his "friend" as "overwhelming".
According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), the Argentine leader valued the result and stated that it is "another step" in Latin America to defend "life, liberty, and private property".
"I am sure that we are going to work together so that America embraces the ideas of freedom and we can free ourselves from the oppressive yoke of 21st-century socialism...!!!", he concluded from his social networks.
The Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, also used his social networks to greet Kast and congratulate the now-Chilean president on his election: "Freedom and the defense of private property will be part of the path that comes."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Nation issued a communiqué in which it stated that Argentina "wishes the new President the greatest success in his management" and expresses its willingness to "work together" not only with Chile, but with the partner countries of the region "in the defense of the principles of democracy, freedom, and the unrestricted respect for human rights", with the objective of "facing common challenges and promoting economic growth and prosperity" for all nations that wish to be part of this joint proposal.
"The Government of the Argentine Republic transmits its disposition to begin to dialogue with the new authorities on matters prioritized for both countries, such as the fight against drug trafficking and transnational organized crime, the promotion of trade and investments, and cooperation in key sectors of the economy", they stated.
