A young man accused of making threats against President Javier Milei was arrested this Wednesday by Federal Police officers in the Buenos Aires district of La Matanza. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the operation was carried out by personnel from the Federal Department of Investigations (DFI) following an investigation that began on social media in early September of last year. The investigation began when the Presidential Security Division of the Federal Police (PFA) sent an email to the Constitutional Crimes Division of the same force, alerting them to a user on a well-known social network operating under the pseudonym “Martiancorp”. This profile had posted: “On September 8, I am going to kill the president of Argentina known as Javier Milei. Save this post, it will go down in the history of Twitter and the internet.” Based on this complaint and with the intervention of the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 12, presided over by Julián Ercolini, Secretariat No. 24 of María del Pilar Cavallero, the Constitutional Crimes Division was ordered to intensify its efforts to identify the person responsible for the message. Investigators conducted various field tasks and data analysis that allowed them to establish that a 21-year-old Argentine man was administering the account from which the threats were issued. It was also determined a residence located on Velazco street in González Catán, where the IP signals associated with the devices used were registered. With the evidence collected, the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 1 in Morón, presided over by Martín Alejandro Ramos, Secretariat No. 2 of Germán Andrés Cancela, ordered the raid on the property, during which the suspect was arrested. During the procedure, a CPU, a router, a cell phone, and other items of interest to the case were also seized. The detainee, along with the seized devices, was placed at the disposal of the justice system for the crime of Threats.
