Judge Lifts Secrecy in Tevez Property Investigation in Argentina

Federal Judge Daniel Rafecas has ordered the lifting of the fiscal secrecy of MALTE SRL and expanded the investigation into the sale of a property in Pilar that once belonged to Carlos Tevez and is now reportedly in the hands of associates of AFA leaders. According to official records accessed by the Argentine News Agency on Wednesday, the property was purchased by Tevez in July 2017 and sold to MALTE SRL on June 28, 2023. Less than a year later, on May 30, 2024, the company transferred it to REAL CENTRAL SRL, linked to Luciano Pantano and his mother Ana Conte. As part of the investigation, Rafecas has requested from ARCA all fiscal and tax information on MALTE SRL and its possible partners or directors, which may include Mauro Javier Paz, former director of the AFA's women's football league, a fact still pending confirmation with official documentation. The case began with a complaint linking the property to alleged irregular movements by high-ranking football leaders. The judicial measure seeks to clarify if there were maneuvers to hide the true origin of the funds used in the transaction.
