Buenos Aires, December 4 (NA) The President of the Senate, Victoria Villarruel, has granted a one-time payment of 500,000 pesos to the staff of the upper house. This payment will be neither remunerative nor bonifiable, according to Noticias Argentinas agency from legislative sources. According to the resolution accessed by the agency, employees will receive this amount in December, provided they have worked for at least six months this year, meaning they are not on leave or on duty. The payment will be made to permanent, temporary, and special regime staff, as confirmed by Noticias Argentinas. Article 2 of this regulation excludes from the payment of 500,000 pesos the staff who 'have not rendered effective services, for a minimum of SIX (6) months in the current fiscal year and who are in the status of attached, on duty, or on extraordinary leave.' It also states that 'the expenditure required to comply with the provisions herein shall be charged to the corresponding item of the budget of the National Senate.' In the grounds of the resolution, Villarruel stated that 'it is the institutional policy of this Presidency of the Honorable Senate of the Nation to promote the continuous improvement of working conditions, to consolidate the administrative career regulated by the Statute for the Personnel of the Congress of the Nation, and to permanently strengthen the institutional functioning of this Chamber, recognizing that the well-being of the staff is an essential component of the quality, efficiency, and continuity of the parliamentary public service.' She added that 'the Senate is empowered to grant extraordinary allowances or single bonuses as a tool to address exceptional or seasonal circumstances affecting the legislative staff, without modifying the basic remunerative scale structure.' It also highlights that 'the budgetary savings implemented by this management during the current year make it possible to meet the measure proposed here without generating additional requirements for its financing.'
