Social Organizations to Hold Joint March in Buenos Aires

Social organizations will gather this Wednesday in the vicinity of the National Congress to protest against the policies of President Javier Milei. The traditional march of retirees will be joined by the disability community, workers from the Garrahan Hospital, and the Union of Workers and Workers of the Popular Economy (UTEP). According to representatives of these organizations, due to the current socio-economic situation in the country, they have decided to unite to make their demands stronger. Ana Valverde from the Union of Retirees in Struggle (UTJL) stated that their goal is to 'continue fighting in the streets for their rights' and to reject the 'ultra-right-wing' government of Milei, which has 'vetoed' them and 'intends to continue doing so,' as it did with medication with a 100% discount. 'Our minimum pension is already at the level of indigence, and despite the marches, during the presidential period, we have never had a dialogue.' On Wednesday, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is also commemorated, and various organizations from the community will join the protest under the slogan 'against any adjustment on our bodies and lives,' with the support of Garrahan Hospital workers, who will also carry out their own demonstration. Following the assembly organized by 'Discas en Lucha', a call was made to participate in the retirees' circle at 4:00 PM, alongside other sectors that 'are fighting for all demands.' 'We demand the implementation of the Disability Emergency Law and other laws won through struggle, the reinstatement of the workers dismissed from the National Disability Agency (ANDIS), and for all our demands to be met,' they assured. Meanwhile, Garrahan Hospital workers will hold a press conference at 11:00 AM at the hospital entrance on Combate de los Pozos Street, where new measures and joint federal actions for Wednesday, December 10th, will be announced. 'The implementation of these laws was suspended until Congress defines the sources of financing and incorporates the necessary items in the National Budget, in a clear message of abandonment towards the most vulnerable sectors,' they concluded.
