Buenos Aires, Dec 2 (NA) — Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni has replaced José Rolandi and appointed Aimé 'Meme' Vázquez as the new Deputy Chief of Staff, making her the second-in-command of the ministerial cabinet.
The formal appointment solidifies the role of a figure with strong ties to the City's PRO party and the influential business sector.
According to Noticias Argentinas agency, Meme Vázquez's profile combines two spheres of power.
Political Connections: She worked for years in the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, including as Deputy Chief of Staff for Diego Santilli, and was part of the significant migration of technical personnel from the GCBA to the national administration.
Business Ties: She is married to the son of Luis Betnaza, who is close to businessman Paolo Rocca (Techint).
With a degree in Political Science and a postgraduate degree in Public Management, Vázquez had been serving as Adorni's right-hand person without a formal position.
