Buenos Aires, November 29 (NA) – A lawyer representing Miguel Ángel Calvete, one of the individuals involved in the case investigating alleged kickbacks at the National Disability Agency (ANDIS), has resigned from his position at the Anticorruption Office (OA). According to information from the Argentine News Agency (NA), Camilo Cordero Fabbrise served as coordinator in the 'Admission and Referral of Complaints' area within the state body.
The lawyer represents Calvete in a case that resulted in his four-year prison sentence for the exploitation of others' prostitution.
Prosecutor Franco Picardi accuses Calvete, the former head of ANDIS Diego Spagnuolo, and 14 other former officials of being part of an organization that directed the purchases for what are known as 'High-Cost and Low-Incidence Benefits and Supplies (PACBI)'.
'These are characterized by having a high economic cost or a prolonged treatment, such as highly complex surgical procedures performed once, as well as biological medicines for 'rare' diseases,' the report states.
