Argentina's Security Ministry Increases Reward for Abducted Girl and Her Mother

The Ministry of Security of Argentina has offered a substantial reward for information on the whereabouts of Alicia Athenas Pichon Troszynski, the girl who was kidnapped by her mother Sofía Belén Troszynski, who has a national and international arrest warrant. Through Resolution 1299/2025, published in the Official Gazette, the ministry headed by Patricia Bullrich announced that the reward has been increased to find those individuals, who have not been involved in the criminal acts, but provide useful information that leads to finding the minor, of Argentine and French nationality, as well as her mother, accused of having abducted her. The National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 6, under the direction of María Alejandra Provítola, requested via a letter dated July 8, 2025, to increase the amount of the reward previously offered from $1 million, «due to the time elapsed and that so far the finding of the aforementioned has not been achieved». A search for the minor is active with the dissemination of her image and data, which began on May 19, 2023, as well as an international search warrant with an Interpol «Yellow Alert» in effect and a prohibition on leaving the country, the Resolution accessed by the Argentine News Agency highlights. Regarding the mother, there is a national and international arrest warrant in effect since February 29, 2024, for the purpose of proceeding with her detention and taking her statement for facts that would initially constitute the crime of minor abduction. In this way, in recent hours, the Ministry confirmed that the reward has been increased to $5 million for whoever provides relevant information to find the girl and her mother.
