Two years ago, on November 23, 21-year-old Agustina Casco died after sustaining severe injuries during a training exercise at the Juan Vucetich Police School. Her death was the result of a brutal blow inflicted by law enforcement officers.
According to the family's lawyer, Rodrigo Tripolone, Agustina was in the process of being promoted from cadet to officer. During a practical arrest exercise, where she was playing the role of a suspect, she was violently pushed, fell, and felt unwell. In the following days, she continued to experience severe pain and even showed bruises on her abdomen to a colleague. However, the instructor in charge did not allow medical personnel to examine her.
After obtaining permission to leave the school, Agustina headed out, but collapsed and vomited at the entrance. Her family took her to a local hospital, where they initially suspected appendicitis. However, a CT scan revealed that she had four liters of blood accumulated in her abdominal cavity.
She was operated on at a clinic in Merlo, but on November 23, she died from severe internal bleeding. The lawyer notes that the investigation has been deliberately delayed: the case was passed between four different prosecutor's offices, two autopsies were performed, and one of the expert witnesses mysteriously disappeared.
The investigation is now being led by Prosecutor Cristian Granados, and the family hopes he will achieve justice and identify all those responsible for the tragedy.
