Minors Detained for the 27th Time in Buenos Aires

Three minors, aged 14 and 15, have been detained for the 27th time in Buenos Aires City. The adolescents have been repeatedly arrested for various thefts, prompting authorities to express concern over the critical situation of juvenile delinquency. Maximiliano Piñeiro, Security Secretary of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, reported that three boys, identified as Cartiel (14), Isaiah (15), and Alexis (15), travel to the Federal Capital from José C. Paz and San Miguel to commit robberies.

"Together, they have already been arrested 27 times for theft in 2025 alone," stated the official on his social media, which was accessed by the Argentine News Agency.

In light of this, Piñeiro stated: "This will not change until we seriously discuss the Juvenile Penal Regime. No criminal policy can withstand this type of recidivism."

Furthermore, he pointed out that because they are minors, they are released quickly, so "they return to the streets in a few hours and continue to create victims, continuing a crime wave that unfortunately ends badly."

Authorities report a sustained increase in minors with criminal records, and therefore, the city government insists on the need for a serious Juvenile Penal Regime.
