President Javier Milei has called on citizens to "brace themselves" because, he said, "there will be many more reforms." He stated that he has received "an undisputed mandate to deepen the direction of change" after the support that La Libertad Avanza (LLA) coalition received in the October legislative elections.
Milei emphasized that the election results—41% of the vote against 24% for the Peronists—constitute a first-round victory, as if they were presidential elections. This opens up possibilities for future reforms, in addition to the planned labor, tax, and criminal code reforms.
"And believe me, the economic program is good, because for much less, governments have been overthrown," he added, referring to the actions of the opposition.
Milei also stated that the first two years of his administration were dedicated to solving "macro problems," and now begins "the second half of the term," during which conditions will be created for the fastest possible growth.
"We are not going to calm our reformist vocation, and the support we have had will make us accelerate more, so fasten your seatbelts because there will be more reforms," he emphasized during an appearance at América Corporation, where he previously worked as an economist.
In line with this, he stated that his government will face a "second half of the term" that will be dedicated to "generating the conditions to grow as much as possible."
"That is why we need more than ever the active participation of entrepreneurs and other private sector representatives," expressed the head of state.
Milei also affirmed that "if we do things right, the world could start talking about growing at Argentine rates in the coming years," in reference to the debate over the 2026 Budget and labor and tax reforms.
In addition, he advocated for "local and foreign investment" to "capitalize a decapitalized country."
On the other hand, he recalled that before the October elections, his government had to "endure more than 40 laws" from Congress that "tried to sabotage the economic program" of the libertarian administration, while noting that "the country was painted violet when everyone believed a month earlier that the Government was going to fall."
