Argentine Court Orders Seizure of Cristina Kirchner's Assets

An Argentine court has ordered the seizure of the assets of former President Cristina Kirchner and other convicts in the road corruption case. This decision comes after the convicts failed to meet the deadline for paying a fine of approximately 500 million dollars. Judicial authorities have identified 122 real estate properties that are considered instruments or proceeds of the crime. Among the seized assets are the properties of businessman Lázaro Báez, as well as assets belonging to Kirchner and her children. The court rejected the defense's arguments, emphasizing that confiscation does not require exact financial tracing but only a reasonable connection to the illicitly obtained benefits. It is expected that after the assets are appraised, a decision will be made regarding their sale.
