The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, stated that from December 10, the priority for the lower house will be the 2026 Budget. He also confirmed that following the electoral victory, they will work for the re-election of Javier Milei in 2027. According to Menem, after the budget, the focus will shift to labor modernization, tax reform, and new penal legislation, with all efforts coordinated with the Senate to expedite the process. Menem described labor modernization as one of Argentina's major outstanding debts. He mentioned that some within the labor movement view the reform positively, as they see that many have been left outside the current system. He emphasized that this modernization will be a success for the benefit of workers. Regarding the agreement with the United States, Menem stated that all of Argentina should celebrate a free trade agreement with the northern country. He praised Milei as the only president who has built cooperative ties in such a short time. Menem highlighted the ideological alignment with the US on modernization, individual freedoms, capitalism, and free enterprise. He lauded Milei's achievements and the consolidation of the La Libertad Avanza (LLA) party nationwide, which he believes will help solidify the president's project and ensure his re-election in 2027. "It's absurd," he emphasized, referring to critics of the reform.
