Buenos Aires, November 14 (NA) -- A major police operation on General Paz Avenue concluded with the arrest of a man accused of driving a car used in an attempted robbery and possessing a loaded firearm.
The incident occurred this Friday morning when officers from the City Police intercepted a car on General Paz Avenue that was wanted for an attempted robbery. After stopping the vehicle, they found a loaded weapon inside.
The car, a Volkswagen Polo, was detected by a license plate reader in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Puerto Madero by the La Plata River, which triggered the alert.
According to the police report accessed by Noticias Argentina, personnel from the Anillo Digital managed to stop the vehicle at the intersection with Superí Street in Saavedra.
It was confirmed that the car had been stolen during an attempted armed robbery with an air gun last Wednesday by two individuals, which led to the man's arrest.
At the time of the operation, the vehicle's only occupant was the driver. During a search of the car, officers found a .22 caliber revolver with eight cartridges, which was confiscated.
