The Tres de Febrero University (UNTREF) received a massacre threat. According to an Argentine news agency, a former student sent an email promising revenge. The message read: “This Thursday, I will take revenge on everyone at UNTREF.” The author, who identified himself as a student who was bullied and humiliated, threatened to arrive with a shotgun, explosives, and bladed weapons to kill as many people as possible. “You will pay with blood for what you did to me, and when I am done, I will go to the bathrooms to commit suicide,” the text read. It also compared the author to Anders Breivik, who carried out attacks in Norway in 2011. “Regardless of whether there are children, I will annihilate everything in my path,” the message concluded, adding that the massacre would be livestreamed on Discord to the organization that provided the weapons. In response, the university closed its Caseros 2 campus; other campuses remain open with reinforced security measures.
