Argentina's Prosecutor's Office Seeks Dismissal of Maradona Case-Linked Judge

The Prosecutor's Office requested the dismissal of Judge Julieta Makintach, accused of participating in the documentary that led to the annulment of the trial over the death of Diego Armando Maradona, during the arguments taking place at the Annex of the Buenos Aires Senate. Prosecutor Analía Duarte, from Necochea, made the request to the Jury of Impeachment, considering that the magistrate "lied, pressured, and abused her power". According to the representative of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Province of Buenos Aires, all accusations were confirmed during the political trial. Makintach "used state resources" to "promote a project for her own benefit and to the detriment of the Justice," Duarte added.
