Milei to convene new Cabinet at Casa Rosada

President Javier Milei will hold his first Cabinet meeting at the Casa Rosada this Monday, kicking off the second stage of his administration. Sources from the Casa Rosada confirmed this to the Argentine News agency, specifying that the meeting will take place at 9:30 AM. This will be the inaugural gathering for the new team members: Manuel Adorni as Chief of Cabinet and Diego Santilli as Minister of the Interior, replacing Guillermo Francos and Lisandro Catalán, respectively. All other officials are also expected to attend, including Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, for whom this will also be his first Cabinet meeting. Milei made the decision to appoint Santilli on Sunday at the Quinta de Olivos, aiming to start the week with the key positions filled in the complete team following Catalán's departure. With this appointment, it is confirmed that advisor Santiago Caputo will continue in his role at the Casa Rosada without a ministerial signature, but with influence across various government departments. In recent hours, there had been speculation that the member of the "iron triangle" might take on a more formal role within the libertarian structure, but for now, he will maintain his status. Milei's Cabinet will have to be modified again soon, as both the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, and the Minister of Defense, Luis Petri, will leave the team to assume their seats in Congress. In the case of Santilli and Adorni, elected as a national and Buenos Aires deputy respectively, it is expected that they will not be sworn into their posts to dedicate themselves to the administration.
