Judicial Protest Day in Buenos Aires

The union led by Julio Piumato, the Union of Employees of the National Justice (UEJN), held a protest against the "unitary project" to transfer the judiciary to the City of Buenos Aires and to denounce the "improvisation" in the implementation of the new Federal Criminal Procedure Code. The general secretary, Piumato, highlighted the 31.26% loss of salaries for judicial employees since March and criticized the continued decrease in their income.

In statements to the media, Piumato emphasized: "New week of struggle. The dignity of judicial employees is not for sale. We show our constancy, rebellion, conviction, and dignity as justice employees not to accept crumbs."

The protest began with a rally at the Courts as part of a day of demand for salary improvements, which will conclude on Friday with a 24-hour strike, according to the union. The UEJN pointed out that the accumulated salary loss amounts to 31.26%, being the main reason that motivates the continuation of protest actions.

"Justice is defended," expressed the union during the nationwide demonstration, reaffirming its commitment to the struggle for better working and salary conditions for judicial workers.
