More than 2,000 personnel, including city police and federal forces, will be deployed this Wednesday at the Congress and its surrounding areas, in preparation for the security operation during the retirees' mobilization. This is in response to the idea of the National Security Minister, Patricia Bullrich, to prevent protesters from reaching the vicinity of the Plaza del Congreso.
Official sources revealed that in addition to the 900 police from the local force, 720 federal police and about 400 members from the National Gendarmerie and Naval Prefecture will be added, thus exceeding 2,000 personnel in total. This decision was made after the incidents that occurred during last week's demonstration between protesters and security forces.
It has been mentioned that the number of Federal Police personnel has nearly doubled for this event, and it is expected that the National Gendarmerie and Naval Prefecture will follow a similar pattern. It is anticipated that the Congress and its surroundings will be completely fortified, with security barriers placed about 100 meters around, preventing the passage of vehicles and people.
Additionally, the City Police will deploy about 900 uniformed officers and 600 traffic agents to manage vehicle control during the mobilization. Security has been reinforced to ensure order and protection in this sensitive environment.
