Protests Escalate in Buenos Aires as Police Car Set Ablaze

A group of protesters set fire to a police car in the intersection of Avenida de Mayo and Santiago del Estero during the disturbances at a pensioners' march in front of Congress. This act occurred amidst a day of protest that included pensioners, fans from various football clubs, and social organizations, all expressing their rejection of the policies of the government led by Javier Milei.

The clashes intensified with security forces, and there were also cases of burning trash containers and repression through the use of tear gas and rubber bullets. Images of the burning police vehicle were widely circulated, generating significant repercussions in society.

In the words of an eyewitness to the events: "It was a chaotic situation, the violence erupted suddenly and the situation got out of control. Seeing the patrol car burning like that was shocking, it looked like something out of a movie. I hope these acts do not happen again and that dialogue prevails to resolve differences in the future."
