A recent survey by the consulting firm Analogías has revealed that despite the criptogate scandal affecting the image of President Javier Milei and his circle, 33.1% of respondents still prefer his political force, surpassing Peronism, which receives 30.4%. This presents a complex political scenario for the future of Milei and his administration.
The study indicates that 54.6% of respondents believe that Milei was involved in the fraud related to the cryptocurrency, with 61% considering it an act of corruption. These results, obtained after conducting the survey between February 25 and 28 through phone calls to 2,733 cases, with a margin of error of +/- 2%, reflect the negative impact of the scandal on public perception of the current government.
Regarding Karina Milei, the president's sister and secretary of the Presidency, the outlook is not encouraging. 51.1% of respondents believe she is involved in the $Libra scam. Despite having a high national recognition level of 81.8%, her image is unfavorable, with 33.7% of positive opinions against 60.6% negative, a situation reminiscent of Cristina Kirchner.
Despite these negative results, the survey provides a glimmer of hope for the government ahead of the legislative elections in October. Macri's PRO reaches a 10.6% voting intention, while radicalism and the left receive 3.6% and 3% respectively. In summary, the criptogate scandal has left marks on the image of the president and his circle, but voters seem to maintain their electoral support, posing a challenging outlook for the political future of Javier Milei and his administration.
