Milei's Intervention Demands Spark Political Tensions

Javier Milei's call for Axel Kicillof to resign escalates tensions in Buenos Aires, with Cristina Kirchner rallying support for Kicillof amid rising political strife.

Milei's Intervention Demands Spark Political Tensions

Today, the governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, responded to the resignation request made by Javier Milei, who had proposed intervening in the province. Milei's request generated controversy that culminated in Kicillof's reaction, urging collaboration to address current challenges.

In the midst of this political dispute, Cristina Kirchner came to Kicillof's defense, sharing on her social media a statement from the National Federal Council of the PJ that labeled the threat as "serious" and "outrageous." The former president considered that an institutional coup was being attempted against the Province and its Governor. For his part, Máximo Kirchner publicly supported Kicillof, putting aside internal differences.

Additionally, other prominent figures of Kirchnerism, such as Senator Eduardo "Wado" de Pedro and Mayor Mayra Mendoza, rallied in support of Kicillof given the situation. Kicillof, for his part, is preparing a press conference to offer a political response to Milei in the coming hours.

Tensions between Milei and Kicillof have intensified in light of recent security incidents in the Province of Buenos Aires, particularly the tragic death of Kim, a 7-year-old girl. In this context, Cristina Kirchner's intervention in support of the Governor is interpreted as a pause in the internal dispute of Peronism.

To show a united front, various figures from Peronism, such as mayors and legislators, are expected to participate in a meeting at the provincial government this afternoon, aiming to send a message of support to the PJ and in response to Milei's request for resignation and intervention.
