A group of Peronist mayors from the province of Buenos Aires, along with legislators and labor and social organizations, has called for the reconstruction of a political force that will confront the austerity model of President Javier Milei in the 2025 elections and defend the rights of popular sectors.
In a statement titled "Embrace the People and Ignite Hope," the leaders highlighted the importance of rebuilding Peronism as an alternative to the "experiment of austerity and cruelty" implemented by the National Government. They pointed out the need to build a social and political force that represents different sectors, including labor, agricultural and industrial production, merchants, professionals, students, artists, scientists, and retirees, to ensure economic development with social justice.
They emphasized the work of the provincial governor Axel Kicillof, considering him a shield and safety net for the rights of the people of Buenos Aires against a State that, they claim, has abandoned its responsibilities. They underscored the importance of the Province of Buenos Aires as a place where a concrete alternative is envisioned, describing it as an example of commitment, transparency, and public policies in favor of the people.
In this context, they called for the construction of a large social and political force to promote development and social justice, representing workers, productive sectors, science, education, and culture. They expressed the need to update the ideas of Peronism with a forward-looking vision and without fear of internal discussion, with the Peronist movement as the engine of this construction, reclaiming its popular and federal essence.
In conclusion, they emphasized the importance of a strong, broad, united Peronism rooted in the people to forge a fairer, more supportive country with opportunities for all. They stressed that Peronism must embrace the people and concentrate its efforts on reconstructing the collective dream of a just, free, and sovereign homeland, always in search of a better future for all Argentinians.
