The debate on the suspension of the PASO in the Buenos Aires Legislature, scheduled for tomorrow, has been postponed to Friday at 1 PM. This decision was made while awaiting the definitions to be adopted in the Senate regarding electoral reform at the national level, according to official sources.
The PRO party is waiting for the position that Peronism will take on this issue, expecting that they will first define their stance in the debate scheduled for tomorrow in the Senate. Since the government in the city of Buenos Aires does not have enough votes of its own or from La Libertad Avanza (LLA) to carry out the suspension of PASO, the position taken by the Peronist bloc on this matter will be decisive.
In addition to the suspension of the Open, Simultaneous, and Mandatory Primaries (PASO), the electoral reform also contemplates the possibility of advancing the election date. According to information from sources close to Jorge Macri's government, the intention of PRO is to avoid the overlap of local elections with national ones, thus allowing for the holding of a district-level election.
