Milei Meets Senator Daines Amid Economic Controversy

President Javier Milei met with Republican Senator Steve Daines this noon at Casa Rosada following the controversy sparked by the promotion of the $Libra currency, which collapsed causing millions in losses. During the meeting, which included the senator's delegation, various topics of interest for both parties were discussed.

Daines, a senator from the state of Montana and director of fundraising for the Republican Party in the upper chamber, is known for his work in promoting legislation for the responsible development of energy resources and government transparency, among other aspects. The meeting between Milei and Daines was announced by the official account of the President's Office through a statement.

President Milei, dressed in a black suit and tie, plans to record an explanation this afternoon about the "Viva la Libertad Project" of the KIP Protocol company on the show "¿La Ves?" hosted by journalist Jonatan Vialey on the Todo Noticias channel. Milei's involvement in the promotion of the $Libra currency caused its sudden rise and subsequent fall when developers abandoned the project and withdrew investor funds.

Additionally, Milei is preparing for his upcoming trip to the United States where he will participate in the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) scheduled from February 19 to 22 in Washington. During his stay in the U.S., the Argentine president has scheduled meetings with prominent figures such as Elon Musk, Administrator of the White House Office of Government Efficiency and founder of Tesla.
