In the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Monserrat, a criminal was captured after stealing a gold chain from a tourist. The detention operation was carried out thanks to the activation of the city's security cameras that allowed for tracking the movements of the thief.
According to the images captured in the Urban Monitoring Center, the individual committed the robbery near the entrance to the Subte D, Catedral station, snatching the jewelry from an Italian tourist before fleeing. The operators of the CMU, noticing what had occurred, alerted the officers of the 1D Neighborhood Police Station about the suspect's characteristics, which facilitated his identification and arrest in the vicinity of the Metropolitan Cathedral.
During the arrest, the stolen chain was found in the possession of the criminal, which was recovered and returned to the victim. After consulting with the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 30 led by Gustavo Pierretti, an immediate detention order was issued for the implicated individual, who faces charges for theft.
