Cristina Kirchner accused Javier Milei of being a "crypto-swindler". The former president strongly criticized Milei after he promoted a cryptocurrency called $LIBRA, labeled a "meme currency". Kirchner stated that these cryptocurrencies are often vehicles for scams, where the creators abandon the project and the currency quickly loses value, resulting in massive losses for investors.
In a social media post, Cristina Kirchner directly targeted Milei, accusing him of using his presidential position to inflate the value of the cryptocurrency. The former president expressed that those who trusted Milei's promotion suffered significant economic losses, while a few benefited from insider information.
Kirchner did not overlook Milei's explanation, in which he claimed not to be aware of the details of the cryptocurrency, and labeled him as "truly incompetent" to hold the presidency. The former president concluded her criticisms by questioning Milei’s ability to lead the country from the Casa Rosada.
Patricia Bullrich also defended Milei from the criticisms, arguing that the president had promoted the cryptocurrency with the intention of showing how small businesses and entrepreneurs could be financed. Bullrich described the reactions toward Milei as exaggerated and assured that he never deviated from the path of supporting private entities engaged in positive activities.
Amid the controversy, Cristina Kirchner accused Milei of turning Argentina into a casino where he himself acts as the dealer, referencing the promotion of cryptocurrencies from his official account. The former president ironized about the situation, criticizing Milei's attitude and questioning his abilities to manage the presidency.
