Criminal Suspect Arrested in Buenos Aires

In October 2024, at the bus station in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Liniers, a member of a criminal organization was arrested, accused of robbery and attempted homicide against a police officer from the City.

The capture took place as part of random population control checks initiated by the National Ministry of Security to prevent crimes. Agents from the Bus Terminal Police Division of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires arrested the individual at the bus station while he was trying to purchase a ticket.

Upon noticing the agents, the individual became agitated and attempted to escape, which raised suspicions and led the officers to detain him to verify his identity. It was discovered that there was a national and international arrest warrant against him for the crimes of "aggravated robbery with the use of a firearm in an attempted homicide in real competition with aggravated homicide criminis causa."

According to the Federal Police, the individual was involved in a robbery in Virrey del Pino last year where he confronted the police armed, resulting in injuries and one deceased criminal. After the incident, the other gang members fled, including the detained individual.

The individual, an Argentine national, was placed at the disposal of the Court of Guarantees No. 4 of the Judicial Department of La Matanza. The requesting court ordered his immediate detention for the crimes attributed to him, in this case, for attempted homicide and charges related to the armed robbery he was involved in.
