The Honorable Senate of the Province of Buenos Aires has presented a proposal requesting the Executive Power to declare a comprehensive strategy for combating insecurity as a provincial interest. The document highlights the need to coordinate actions with the National Executive Power to address this issue in the province.
According to the writing, this strategy should involve the joint and ongoing participation of the National Gendarmerie, the Argentine Naval Prefecture, the Argentine Federal Police, and the Police of the Province of Buenos Aires. The goal is to unite efforts and resources to improve the effectiveness of the measures taken and ensure the safety of the citizens of Buenos Aires.
Additionally, the senators have requested an interrogation of the province's Minister of Security, Javier Alonso, to explain the actions he is taking to confront the concerning wave of violence affecting the residents of the region.
In light of the increasing insecurity in several districts of the metropolitan area, the block of Buenos Aires senators from the Libertad Avanza party has urged the intervention of the Federal Forces. Legislators Silvana Ventura, Carlos Kikuchi, and Sergio Vargas have submitted a request to the government of Axel Kicillof to take urgent measures and curb the violence in the Province.
