Conflict in La Libertad Avanza Party

The political party La Libertad Avanza (LLA) announced that it has irreversibly expelled the porteño legislator Ramiro Marra for voting in favor of the tax increase in the City of Buenos Aires, an action that goes against the principles of President Javier Milei. This surprising decision has generated internal tensions within the ruling party, which remains opposed to the increase in public spending and the tax burdens imposed by the head of the porteño Government, Jorge Macri.

The expulsion of Marra has been described as a necessary step to maintain ideological coherence and unity within the party. According to the official statement from La Libertad Avanza, those who do not follow the guidelines established by President Milei will be expelled, regardless of their previous political closeness or position within the party.

Prior to this decision, disagreements between Marra and the party had already been manifesting, especially since he was removed from his role as head of the LLA bloc in the porteña Legislature a few months ago. These differences may have their origin in internal conflicts of the legislator with the General Secretary of the Presidency, Karina Milei, sister of the party leader.

In the midst of this situation, La Libertad Avanza has reaffirmed its commitment to its values and has made it clear that ideological cohesion is an undeniable priority. The expulsion of Marra, despite his closeness to President Milei, has sent a strong message about the discipline and loyalty required within the party ranks.
