The General Confederation of Labor (CGT) met on January 28 with Taty Almeida, one of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo (founding line), and other human rights leaders. The aim of the meeting was to gather information about the situation of workers in the Memorial sites.
During the meeting, senior officials from the trade union confederation confirmed to InfoGremiales that there was no consensus on participation in the 'Federal March of Antifascist Antiracist LGTBINBQ+ Pride' to be held on February 1 in protest against President Javier Milei's speech in Davos and the policies of his first year in government. The CGT will not mobilize organizationally, leaving the decision to participate up to the confederated organizations.
Regarding the traditional mobilizations on March 8 and 24 for International Women’s Day and Remembrance Day, it was assured that they will participate. However, there was no consensus regarding the antifascist mobilization scheduled for next Saturday to form a column from the workers' central union.
The unions were given freedom of action to decide their participation in the various convocations, confirming their presence at the marches on March 8 and 24. The CGT's negotiating table also addressed the labor issues of the memorial sites during the meeting with human rights leaders.
