Arrest of Pickpockets and Graffiti Artists in Buenos Aires Subway

Two pickpocketing women, one Argentine and one Chilean, were captured by cameras while throwing a stolen wallet belonging to a passenger into a trash can at the Santa Fe station, part of the H line of the subway. This incident was reported to the personnel of the Local Police Station 2B by the Urban Monitoring Center (UMC). The women were also seen earlier at the Faculty of Medicine station on the D line, discarding another wallet.

After receiving the alert from the UMC, the two women were intercepted at the Santa Fe station on the H line. It was later confirmed that they had attempted to steal belongings from two other passengers, without success. After consulting with the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 9, the detention of the women was ordered, and the seizure of the wallet was requested, categorizing the case as theft.

On the other hand, at the Callao station on the B line of the subway, City police arrested two people for vandalizing the walls. After their arrest, they were banned from leaving the country and using the subway service again. Staff from the Subway Division acted after an operator alerted them about a man and a woman who were graffitiing on the platform, information confirmed by the UMC. The detainees turned out to be a 22-year-old young man and a 24-year-old woman.
