The cumbia singer Elián Valenzuela, known as L-Gante, will face a sanction for driving while using his cellphone and not wearing a seatbelt. The National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) confirmed the infraction and transferred the case to the authorities of the province of Buenos Aires, where Valenzuela has a valid license. The ANSV took this action after a video surfaced showing the singer driving a truck without adhering to safety regulations.
According to the official statement from the ANSV, as a consequence of this situation, Elián Valenzuela will have to undergo a psycho-physical examination to determine if he is fit to continue driving on public roads. The National Traffic Law clearly establishes the prohibition of cellphone use while driving and the mandatory use of seatbelts, considering the failure to comply with these regulations a serious offense.
In another context, the 24-year-old singer was involved in an accusation of alleged sexual abuse made by his ex-girlfriend, Dakota Goth, a well-known influencer. L-Gante resumed his relationship with entrepreneur and host Wanda Nara after this incident. Additionally, Valenzuela was sentenced to three years of probation for threats, although he is currently free.
Judge Ignacio Raca imposed a series of obligations on L-Gante, such as establishing a residence, being under the supervision of the Parole Board, and refraining from contacting the complainants and their families. Furthermore, he was required to inform the court in advance about any travel abroad and to make monetary donations to charities based in General Rodríguez, a party in Buenos Aires.
