Celebration of Recovery of Granddaughter 139 in Buenos Aires

Today, leaders and organizations in Buenos Aires celebrated the recovery of granddaughter 139 by Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo, emphasizing the ongoing struggle for identity restoration of disappeared children. Social leaders called for activism in the streets despite governmental denials of past state terrorism.


Celebration of Recovery of Granddaughter 139 in Buenos Aires

Today the recovery of granddaughter 139 was celebrated by the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo. Leaders, organizations, and political parties praised the tireless work of this association in restoring the identity of the children of the disappeared. Juan Grabois, a leader of Patria Grande, urged to disconnect for a moment from social networks and reconnect on the streets, highlighting that "the peoples that fight always return."

Myriam Bregman, former deputy from the Left Front, also joined in expressing on social media, criticizing government legislator Ramiro Marra for erasing a graffiti made by Grabois about the recovery of granddaughter 138. La Cámpora also welcomed granddaughter 139, and the CGT joined the celebration embracing the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo for their continuous fight.

The Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo joyfully announced the appearance of granddaughter 139 and called on civil society to express itself in the streets. Amid all the congratulations, truth always triumphs despite the government's denial of state terrorism crimes and the defunding of memory policies, affirmed the organization.

The Undersecretariat of Human Rights of the Province of Buenos Aires criticized the Government, accusing it of wanting to deny terrorism crimes and defund memory policies. Grabois, meanwhile, reiterated the importance of continuing the search for the disappeared grandchildren: "Let's get to work."
