Buenos Aires, February 3 (NA) — Netflix has officially renewed 'Dancing on Ice' for a second season, following the solid performance of its debut on the platform.
The series is based on the 2022 novel of the same name by Jennifer Iacopelli and follows the story of the Russo sisters, heirs to a figure skating dynasty going through a deep crisis.
At the center of the narrative is Adriana, the middle sister, who trains for the World Championship with her new partner Brayden while dealing with her lingering feelings for Freddie, her first love and former ice partner.
The first season premiered on January 22 and surpassed 12 million views, a performance that sealed the project's continuation.
The impact was also reflected in the book market, as Putnam Books for Young Readers reported that the paperback edition launched in December 2025 saw a 500% increase in sales compared to the first hardcover edition.
The creative team will continue to lead the production, with Jeff Norton staying on as showrunner, Shelley Scarrow as head writer, accompanied by Sabrina Sherif and Jacqueline Pepall.
Direction will once again be handled by Pepall alongside Shamim Sarif, while WildBrain will maintain its role as executive producer alongside Norton, Stephanie Betts, and Angela Boudreault.
It was revealed that the second season will delve deeper into the two major triangles that structure the story: the romantic and the family, promising more conflicts both on and off the ice rink.
