
In a tragic incident in a building in the Flores neighborhood, two people lost their lives and six were injured due to a fire. According to police sources, a 43-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman died in the event. The affected building is a ground-floor structure with 16 floors intended for housing, where 27 people lived, including two minors and 25 adults.
Six of the victims were transferred to nearby hospitals, such as Grierson, Santojanni, and Piñero, and are out of danger. The City firefighters worked hard to contain and extinguish the fire that spread significantly within the affected building.
In the midst of the emergency, rescuers found an elderly woman between the 5th and 6th floors, who was taken to a balcony on the fourth floor for first aid. After being stabilized and removed from smoke, she was transferred to Piñero Hospital due to smoke inhalation.
During the operation, residents with respiratory problems were found on various floors of the building, and critical situations were prioritized for evacuation. On the fourteenth floor, rescue teams managed to resuscitate a man and take him to safety via the stairs.
